Daniel was born and raised in southern Ontario and grew up with two older sisters, Tracey and Kathy and a younger brother, Michael.
After numerous jobs from farming to working at Canadian Tire, he joined the Canadian Armed Forces in February 1986 where he started as an “Oceanographic Operator”, a position now known as “SONAR Operator”.
Daniel had the amazing opportunity to travel the globe and meet and work with amazing people from Pond Inlet, Nunavut to the Bahamas to Australia to Misrata Africa.
After 36 plus years of service in Canada, he retired in June 2022 amd now volunteers with Scouts Canada as a Beaver leader, a little league baseball coach, chaperone for school trips, Adopt a highway cleanup coordinator and he is an attendant and safety supervisor for Hands on Halifax Community Workshop and as a Citizen On Patrol for Beechville, Lakeside and Timberlea where he currently lives with his wife, son and dog.
